Rene Summer (47) is Director of Government and Industry Relations at Ericsson Group working with ICT public in the following areas; cyber norms, 5G security, privacy, and cross-border data flows. In addition, Rene is also engaged in driving Ericsson’s analysis of the internal political environment and geopolitical trends. Rene joined Ericsson in 2001 and before moving into public policy in 2009 he has been working across Ericsson different Business Units and Market Units, primarily in market analysis, market forecasting and business intelligence. Rene has been engaged in the EU 5G security toolbox both at EU level and Member State level. Rene has a broad international policy experience, engaging with policy makers across many jurisdictions and he is also active in several trade associations. Rene holds an MSc degree from Reading University UK in International Business and Finance with expertise in Business Strategy and Economic Policy. Part-time studies in International Relations, Comparative Politics, Foreign Policy Analysis, International Political Economy and Economic History.
